We operate 365 days a year. Work day is usually 10a-4p or 9a-5p. One fixed day-off for full-timers, and up to 3 fixed days-off for part-timers, additional days-off will fluctuate depending on our weekly workload.

Other staff are running at different schedules: Laundry is mostly in the evenings & early mornings, office assistant is mostly in the morning and throughout the day, and quality check is mostly in the afternoon.

All our products are eco-friendly; our EPA certified disinfectant is non-toxic & food safe. It might sometimes take longer to clean with these products, but we require your commitment to only use non-toxic products.

How does the hiring process work?

1) Maui Cleaning Jobs – Application & Phone interview

To apply for our Maui cleaning jobs, please fill-in the form and schedule a call back for a quick 15min phone interview.

 

2) Maui Cleaning Jobs – Orientation & Training

We will have you come for an orientation on the job, usually held on Monday or Wednesday 10a-2p.

Training rate is $20/hr instead of $24 (with 3+ yrs experience), and you will need to complete a minimum of 2 days in training (or up to 40hrs) before you can work on your own.

Training is mandatory for all cleaners, no matter how much experience you have, so we can guarantee perfect quality for our customers, and make sure you can be fully autonomous and work on your own, as no-one will be able to follow-up with you after training.

During the training, we will introduce you to our non-toxic cleaning products and what to use on which surface, our different checklists for our different types of vacation rental & residential cleanings, our linens & supplies, and the way to process them for laundry. We will also walk you through our employee booklet, containing our protocols and how to deal with all possible situations you can encounter, and we will introduce you to our storage units and get you access, as well as your own gear.

We will also help you navigate our different forms to setup your payroll, and setup your apps on your phone to see your scheduled work, track your time, and file picture reports when you encounter issues. We will also accompany you to get parking passes and security clearances needed for some of our luxury properties.

All this is time consuming and it’s the reason why you will get paid less until you’re able to do it all on your own.

What professional experience is required?

Our Maui cleaning jobs require at least 3+ years of professional experience, cleaning residential and/or vacation rental properties. By professional experience, we mean being an employee or contractor getting paid for cleaning work in residential or vacation rental properties (Working on your own, or cleaning as a secondary duty in another type of job, or care-taking won’t count as required experience in this particular case).

We require our cleaners to have a smartphone, a valid Hawai’i drivers license, and to be fluent in English.

We do have a preference for people with customer service experience and an eye for details. We do not require High-school diploma.

If you lack experience but learn & work fast, we might be able to accommodate you with lower wages and/or additional training until you are performing as an experienced cleaner.

Above all, our Maui cleaning jobs are for people who are reliable and show up for work consistently. If you also have an eye for details and you are fast and methodical, you will be a great asset for our team and we’d be glad to have you with us!

What equipment & products are provided?

We provide the entire equipment and products, and we do not accept any other equipment nor products to be used by our cleaners, because of quality guarantees, liabilities, and mostly because we only work with non-toxic & eco-friendly products, as advertised to our clients.

After your first days of training, you will be provided your equipment and products. Part-timers will share their equipment with a co-worker on the days they are off, and will be required to drop-off & pick-up their gear at our nearest storage or laundry location.

Do we get paid by the hour or by the job?

Our Maui cleaning jobs are all W2 employee positions, no 1099 subcontracting except for work that is out of our regular scope, so all our employees are paid by the hour, not by the job.

But it’s important to know that we do charge our clients by the job; so good timing is always an important factor for succeeding in our team, and scoring some bonuses on your paycheck.

We offer a base hourly pay, with bonuses on top of that for high-performers.

We pay time driving between cleanings, and when picking-up or dropping off linens & supplies at our nearest storage or laundry locations.

What if my availability changes at the last-minute?

Last-minute changes don’t work well with our Maui cleaning jobs, as we need to have the properties ready for guests checking-in usually at 4pm, and we simply can’t delay the cleanings.

We do have a small team and we need everyone to be reliable, so it can be fair and enjoyable for everyone. If you’re usually late or you like to occasionally skip work; it is going to be hard on the team and we are not going to be a good fit. In this case, it is probably better not to apply.

Are your Maui cleaning jobs part-time or full-time?

We offer both.

Part-time is 3 days per week (avg.20hrs), if you need you can pick up to 3 fixed days for days off, and one will be changing depending on our workload.

Full-time is 6 days per week (max.40hrs), you can pick 1 fixed day off, and one will be changing depending on our workload.

All our employees are required to work a minimum of 1-2 weekend days every month.

Full-time comes with Health Insurance (with dental & vision), after your first month full-time.

Do I need to use my own vehicle?

Cleaners have to use their own vehicles. Each cleaner is assigned to one work location:

  • Ka’anapali
  • Kihei
  • or Kahului

Every day, each cleaner will be assigned usually 1-3 cleanings. Each cleaner mostly work on their own.

Commuting from home to your cleanings and back is not paid, but driving in between your cleanings is paid regular pay and an additional $0.655/mile for the use of your personal vehicle (2023 IRS standard rate).

A couple days per month, you will be required to go help at a different location than your normal work location. For this, you will be paid mileage compensation, for the return drive between your home and your cleanings.

Cleaners must have a valid Hawai’i drivers license and a reliable vehicle in good condition, fully registered with Hawai’i license plates, and with current insurance and safety.

If you don’t have a vehicle, but have a driving license; we do have positions as runner to deliver linens & supplies with our company vehicle. If you don’t have a driving license, we do have positions as part-time laundry workers in central & west Maui (evening & early morning shifts).

How does it work for payment?

Payroll is processed twice-a-month by direct deposit on your bank account on or around the 1st and 15th of each month. Because we run everything online, we do not pay cash nor checks.

Hours worked until the 10th are paid on the 15th, and hours worked until the 27th are paid on the 1st of each month. (+/- 1-3 days depending on weekend and holidays)

Why do we charge more than a regular cleaner?

Our services cost a bit more because we do more detail-oriented work than other cleaners, but also because we pay our taxes and insurances, and that’s quite a lot of money, about 40% of our revenue.

1) We pay higher wages because our cleaners are showing up for work and doing a detail-oriented job that requires a lot of skills & attention.

2) We pay higher wages because we know that life is so expensive on Maui and it’s impossible to make it with the minimum wage.

3) We want to be able to guarantee to our clients that their cleaners are going to show up and have their property ready on time for their guests’ check-in. We work as a reliable small team to remove some stress for our clients and replace it with peace of mind and a friendly customer service!

4) Here are  some other reasons why other cleaners can be cheaper;

A lot of people in the cleaning industry are doing work under the table, and the rates offered are misleading and should not be considered as a standard, because they don’t cover taxes, social security, worker compensation, temporary disability insurance, liability insurance, bonding, guarantee of quality & reliability, paid time to handle customer service and admin tasks, cost of storage units and cleaning equipment, and cleaners paid time for driving from place to place, which is quite a lot. All these little savings can potentially bring up a whole lot of trouble for both the cleaners and the clients on the long run, and that’s the reason why we think business done this way isn’t sustainable.

At Precision, we also pay our seasoned employees much more than the minimum wage, because;

1) They are working very hard and have to remember many different protocols, and work in many different locations (and their driving time between cleanings is paid).

2) They are taking risks and working on the front-lines, having to interact with germs on surfaces & linens.

3) Life is expensive on Maui, and who can afford to feed their family and have a roof over their head with a minimum wage?

What is our guarantee of service?

We believe in the quality of our services and we are sure our clients will love them! If anything was missed, we will send a cleaner within 24hrs to fix it for free. That’s why it will be important that you don’t skip anything. Our timing is including wiping every surfaces, even if they look clean.

It is important you follow our protocols at all times and get into a good routine, and then you’ll be able to enjoy yourself listening to free audiobooks as you clean. This is part of our efforts to promote personal development, as cleaning can also be used to gain new knowledge, to help you on your career path.

How does it work if a guest gets really messy?

First of all, don’t worry too much; because it very rarely happens. If anything is heavily soiled or damaged; our cleaners need to file a report with pictures immediately, and in some cases they are allowed to refuse service. If additional work is required and the job is going to take longer than planned, we need to collect pictures, and ask our clients for an extra fee.

Do you do window, carpet, upholstery, or ventilation cleaning?

We do interior and exterior windows that are safely accessible with a step-stool (up to 9ft). We wipe the windows & screens as part of the deep-clean service we perform on each property every 3 months. During the first service, we’ll evaluate the need to schedule the first deep-clean, and after that we require a deep-clean service every 2-3 months.

At this time, we do NOT offer; any ladder work, carpet & upholstery cleaning, nor duct/AC/vent cleaning.
